To enhance excellence in the management of the Mufti institution efficiently
- To provide advice to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Head of Religion of the State of Melaka through the Islamic Religious Council, State Government, statutory bodies, non-governmental organisations and the community on matters of Islamic affairs and syarak law.
- To issue fatwas or syarak legal opinions that are comprehensive, well-organised and systematic on any unresolved or controversial issues related to syarak law based on the texts of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and the opinions of the recognised Imams of the madhahib.
- To be the primary and final reference centre for fatwas and syarak law.
- To be a centre for education, research and astro-tourism in the field of shariah astronomy / astronomy that is solid, authoritative and respected.
